Palmerston North
May 16th 1917
Dear Mum
We arrived at Palmerston today about 11:30. Neil had no more trouble with his nose at all and has been quite fit ever since. He was well enough to take my seat instead of his own because there was a young lady sitting next to that one. On his own admission he talked to her until 3.20 am. I, myself, never had a better trip as I slept very well nearly all night and was quite fresh and hungry this morning. We saw Charlie and Alec pass through here about 4 o’clock this afternoon on their way to Auckland.

Writing again soon
